I have to admit, that Just when I thought TCM was getting a little repetative with their programming some months back (sometimes double dipping with known classics in one month with obscure little B's fading away for sometimes 2 years at a clip) they started to show more paramounts, and as of late they have been showcasing more and more Columbia films, many which have never been available on vhs or DVD.....personally I am pleased that they have been veering off into "different" directions without compromising their orginal intent (aka American Movie Classics)....If we are lucky in this lifetime maybe they will start to licence product from Universal MCA (other than A &C and classic horror)...Ya never know. |

Speaking of TCM, on Monday (the holiday) I got a FedEx... a big box from TCM filled with candy! There were Hershey Kisses (marked in a wrapper with Scarlett and Rhett), licorice twists (marked with North by Northwest, for "plot twists"), and some sort of chocolate bon-bon thingies (I forget what they were for), along with some press releases and photos, part of the promotion for the upcoming "31 Days of Oscar" promotion. Now, I don't eat that stuff (watching my boyish figure) but it was sure nice of TCM to have found In The Balcony and to recognize us as somebody that's important to fans of classic movies. |

TCM is a class act all the way. When I'm surfing DirecTV, TCM is always the place I start. |

One of the mixed blessings of age is waking up in the middle of the night.... & realizing you ain't gonna go back to sleep. Woke up around 4:00 this am & was puh-lenty pissed. Turned on TCM & there was Edward Ellis having a discussion with Natalie Moorhead. Seems TCM was showing a number of Thin Man films in a row. VERY nice. |

I caught part of one of the Thin Man films this morning as well, but drifted back to sleep. |
