The Cisco Kid movies were released to TV in the early fifties… after the Cisco Kid ½ hour TV program (produced by Ziv) had been on the air for at least a season. As a result, the names of the two main characters were changed to Chico & Pablo. It was done very sloppily & was quite obvious even to the most benighted viewer. I’m surprised that they had to be changed back since, presumably, the change was made to the 16 mm TV prints only. Either the 35 mm have been lost or the change of names was done for other reasons that I am unaware of.

I picked up a couple of Trail Blazers movies some time back. I'm going to be watching them for Monogram week.

I tried to watch a Mr. Wong movie last week, but I couldn't get into it at all.

Gravy: On your recommendation I did buy Leo Gorcey, Jr's book about his father. Does this entitle me to free admission where ever in the U.S. a Mongram movie is playing?

Are we not only 6 months or so away from the 58th annual Monogram week?
please tell me it's true so I can start marking off the days on my Hallmark reminder.

Only six months to go! I can hardly wait :P

So...I nominate pretty Jean Parker for past Miss Monogram of 2008. She was the lovely Kitty O'Day in the Monogram series and was in a load of b-movies during her career. PLUS she was married to good ol' Robert Lowery of serial and other b movie fame. Alas we lost her in 2005 but she had a great run.Posted Image
