Long before King Kong (1933) scared the pant off us, there was Sir Arthur Conan Doyles The Lost World. Willis O'Brien brought to life a special effects maserpiece that the movie-going audience had never been witness to before. Groundbreaking for its time, The Lost World was the inspiration of many of the best stop-motion animators of our time, and helped to fuel the interest in dinosaurs in motion pictures.

Although crude compaired to other silents, this is a great silent for fans of early adventure/thriller cinema; and a must see for fans of stop-motion animation. As you watch this silent classic you will also notice how many similarities one can find between this film and another great film released 8 years later: King Kong.
There is nothning worse than aggresive stupidity.

Another silent movie I have always wanted to see, so I will ask what is becoming my standard question on your movie-review posts, Wade: Is there a DVD out there?

This is probably the most complete version we'll ever see. It runs 90 minutes and the original supposedly ran 108. But that's a huge improvement over the 60 minute version which was the only one available for many years.
Life is just a bowl of cherries, it's too mysterious, don't take it serious...
