Just playing around with that wild imagination we Balconeers--AND Balconettes are known for, if you had to live your life out in any cartoon program (Flintstones, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Beany and Cecil, Scooby-Doo....)or any movie cartoon series (Popeye, Bugs Bunny, Betty Boop, Superman, Pink Panther, Tom and Jerry...), comic book, or comic strip, where would you prefer to exist in your one-dimensional state??

At the moment I see me in the comic strip/comic book, The Spirit for the fun and action, or maybe an older strip like Out Our Way just so I could live "back then" near the early 1900's and 20's. :)

I'd be in a psych-O-delic version of those great mid sixties Godzilla films! Monster Zero, Ghidorah the Three Headed Monster-- spies, bright colors and monsters, oh my!

I would have loved to have seen a limited style animation done like this. I was actually a fan of those really cheesy Marvel cartoons that basically were (slightly) moving comic books!

Hey greyprilgrim: a fun unique idea and I love marlin lee's answer.
For me, first I'd like to motor over to Toon Town and look up Jessica Rabbit. To me she's great looking but cotton candy. Like Mae West and Paris Hilton, stuck on herself, over-rated and thinking all guys are waiting in line for her. She needs a little deflation with kick to her beautiful ass.
Then I'd head to "Black and Whiteville" to rescue Betty Boop from one of those dark Fleischer forests and have her be soooooo greatful.
When I succeed, I'll post a pic of her garter right here in the Balcony!

Well, I'd either wanna be Popeye or the Fleischer version of Superman. In some other fictional life, I'd like to be able to beat somebody up. As it is, in reality, none of us Gravys are fighters. We have to learn to live by our wits -- the biggest, hardiest Gravy male would lose a fistfight to a 10-year-old girl.

My life would definitely parallel Rocky and Bullwinkle. It's haphazardly drawn, but funny as all get-out.

I was wearing my Daffy Duck sweatshirt one day when I walked into a bowling alley. The biggest, ugliest, meanest, nastiest biker I ever saw was shooting pool, and he looked up at me and said, "Hey, I love your shirt, man. That duck's my favorite artist."

So I'd hang out with Daffy.

The world according to Tubby always made sense to me, so I'd live there. In a way, I already have. My old neighborhood had its own Lulu, Annie, Iggy, Eddie, Willy, Alvin, and Grandpa Feeb. The comic just threw them into relief.

I'm sure we've all noticed this phenomenon. Hasn't everyone had Miss Grundy as a teacher? Didn't we all sit behind Jughead in English class? Wasn't Little Iodine the brat who lived two houses down from you? Haven't you known dogs that looked like Dennis Mitchell's Ruff? And didn't Herb Woodley try to sell you a car once?

Two weeks ago, on vacation in Rome, I saw Bluto outside a coffee bar. I'm not kidding.

Isn't your nickname "Duck", Mr. P.?

Bluto? Italian? The thought never occured to me. Anybody know from the Segar strip?

I wanna be Superman 'cause of the fantasy of it all, but let's face it: I'd most likely be Herbie the Fat Fury, the Allan Sherman lookalike who sucks lollipops and wears a plumber's helper on his head.

OH! Y'know what would be cool? To be one of those Happy Sunshine Makers, the li'l elves who pitch bottles of milk at people and turn them into gay pixies!!!

I could not stay in one place being the schitzoid that I am. Being one of Lulu's friends would be cool in a safe and carefree sense. Also early Disney silly toons. On the other hand I would become melted in the world of R.Crumb. I drew a few hundred pages of comics inspired by this warped genius from back in 77' to the mid 90s. Would have been published if not for the starting up fee = roll of the dice and $$$. Cute bunnies running around with partying and well,er acting like bunnies sounds good to me. Especially if Mr. Natural is there with all his wise thoughts. B) Cartoon clowns rock. <_<

I know what you mean, Bats.

This wasn't exactly the way I was intending this thread to go.

Pixies and bunnies and making it with Jessica Rabbit, then finding Bluto in Rome while living next to Lulu and her friends with Dennis the Menace's dog thrown in................hmmmmm....I DID have a stray dog when I was a kid that was the EXACT duplicate of Marmaduke!!!
And I did have a friend who was the twin of Herbie. Really. He was THAT big. :o

Y'know....Nancy's Aunt Fritzi Ritz was kinda cute.... :o

God!! It's contagious!!! ;)

But y'know...there IS something about R. Crumb's drawings that seemed to make you want to be in them...............or it could be residual effects from a misspent youth and some really good weed and apple wine.

Sticking around this thread, GP, may require generous amounts of that weed and wine.

Hmmm, two pot posts in one night. People might think I have a problem. B)

I'd better hide the bong from Robin.
