Another dose of self-righteousness. How about posting actual things of interest?

Let's not fight about this. It's just not the right cross-selection of people here, and we need as many active members as we can get.

To me climate change is an important problem and it's unfortunate that it is viewed as a political issue, to which both parties and the American public seem largely indifferent. My understanding is that the nearest inhabitable planet, recently discovered, is 500 light-years away, so I would think we would want to take as good care of our present home as possible.

Here is the latest bad news on the subject:

"Daredevils Of The West" is partially lost ... to date there are only 4 chapters in circulation.
Someone may want to double check this, but if I read it right, Serial Squadron has the entire 12 chapter serial. All the video from all 12 chapters is there, but the audio from 4 chapters is missing, so they dubbed it in. As I said, you may want to double check it.

It is a horrifying thing. Joking about it is in poor taste. And any humor derived from Mr Gore being considered an habitual liar surely lost its value when the guy who lost the popular vote to him hornswaggled us into a war that killed thousands of young Americans and countless others.

Moody, this board is already aware of that, but for your own sake, don't mention the Serial Squadron around here. It will save you a lot of hassle.

I have no problem with them, and their DotW is an amazing release that I recommend.

Back in about 2002 I think it was, Al Gore parodied himself in a cartoon. He was hosting a meeting to discuss "global warming". He was introduced as "The Inventor of the Environment, and First Emperor of the Moon". Surely if Al Gore himself can laugh at the incident, we can too.

So, I'm saying (asking?) that the "Mathis" print is still the most complete "original" version of King of the Mounties?

As far as I know, it is the only print.

Is that the print the Serial Squadron used for their excellent release?

Yes, indeed. It is the print Eric used. Did he have any right to? I would say no, but your opinion is as good as mine.

Eric has shown that despite his bluster, he has no qualms or trepidations whatsoever being a pirate.

I'm a grandfather, playing politics with science is horrifying to me.

I liked the Mounties release with the subtitles; frankly, I don't recall now how much of it was silent and how much wasn't.

Do all of us remember when pretty much out of nowhere the considered-lost serials Captain Midnight, Jungle Jim, and a couple of others that I forget now (Terry and the Pirates may've been one of 'em) suddenly appeared out of nowhere on VHS from VCI? Good times.

Frankly, Mr P, I don't care if he had the right or not. And that probably makes him a hypocrite, but again, I don't care.

If studios don't want to release their serials, I'll take them from where I can get them.

And if a studio decides to release a legitimate DVD (or Blu) of their title, I will support it.

(Except maybe those upcoming Olive Republics, those titles are stinky-poo).

Actually, I'm looking forward to the Olives, they're 13 min. chapters, leaving more room for Vitaphones and Crimes Does Not Pays and Cubby Bear cartoons and stuff like that.

Grood's release of so-called grey market serials wouldn't bother me if he didn't spend half his life calling other people crooks for doing the same, or even, in the case of VCI, calling them pirates for releasing serials to which they had full rights. Not that he bothers me anyway, I think he's a pathetic loser. If I gave him any thought...

Where were we? Oh, well, 2014-2015 serials for FNF... Maybe Batman to start the season, maybe, I'm thinkin'...

I agree, that's why I threw in the word hypocrite.

I know others have personal reasons/grudges against him, too, mostly for pledging to serials that took forever to come out. Me, I never pre-pay for something from a small-time supplier (whether DVDs, books, what have you), you never know how long it will take to come out, if ever. I wait until it is released and others have it. So I've never had that problem with him.

As for FNF, what can I say, except going with BATMAN (1943) is an excellent idea.

While you screen BATMAN, notice when they take the ride into the "Japanese Cave of Horrors," on the ceiling you can see the Black Tiger.
