Cool, Pa. I never noticed.
Life is just a bowl of cherries, it's too mysterious, don't take it serious...

Back in 2004, I did an analysis of the Mathis print
It's below - it might help those who would like to know how long the still photos play and how often the subtitles (dubbing?) appears:

"The Mathis print of King of the Mounties (1942) has some video (picture) & some audio (sound) missing:

Video:
The only missing video occurs in Chapter Three and amounts to the first 8 minutes thereof … leaving the remaining 7 minutes of the Chapter all OK.

Audio:
The missing audio is unfortunately spread throughout the serial, amounting to 67 minutes or 34% of the content.

Of particular note is that there is no audio soundtrack for the entirety of Chapter One.

The following Chapters are each missing a single segment of audio as follows:
Two (5 mins), Four (5 mins), Five (8 mins), Six (10 mins),
Seven (5 mins), Eight (3 mins) & Ten (7 mins)

Now the Good News:
Chapters Nine, Eleven & Twelve are intact - having full video & audio!"

Hey Gravy - thanks for the lead to the serial articles by that mysterious, hooded author Cliff "Hanger" Weimer.
Both articles are most informative and excellent!!
