That is a correct; one of my fave cartoons. He was later named "Michigan J. Frog" (he sings "The Michigan Rag", which I think was an original song, not an old standard, in the cartoon) but in the 'toon itself he's not named. |

"One Froggy Evening" is one of my all time favorite toons. Classic and timeless. It appears on the Chuck Jones vhs collection. Don't know about dvd. I think there was only one appearance by Michigan J. Frog. I did hear a rumor that there was a second one, but I've never seen it or known anyone who has firsthand. |

That's Swooner Crooner, and it's on the third Warners Golden Collection of Looney Tunes. |

I may be the only individual who thinks One Froggy Evening is one of the most overrated cartoons in the history of animation. But then, I feel the same about What's Opera, Doc? (1957), too. |

There was a sequel entitled "Another Froggy Evening" finished in 1995, it was shown theatrically with a Warner Brothers film in theatres (the name escapes me) then it slipped between the cracks due to a disagreement between director Chuck Jones and WB..Until it was released on DVD. It is included on the 2 disc special edition of SPACE JAM.....released in 2003 to help promote the Brendan Fraiser Looney tunes back in action film. however even if you don't like space jam there are 4 other new cartoons made in the 1990's that are included as bonus material in the deluxe package "Invasion of the Bunny Snatchers" "Night of the living Duck" "The Duxorcist" "Bugs vs Daffy, battle of the video stars" |

No you aren't. I feel that while they're both very good cartoons, they're not the out and out cream of the WB crop like some folks do. |

Ah, bless you, Rodney me boyo...it's just when I heard Spielberg refer to Evening as "the Citizen Kane of cartoons" in Chuck Jones: Extremes & In-Betweens it was like fingernails on a blackboard. Thanks for having my back. |

"One Froggy Evening" would probably be #1 on my list of favorite cartoons. "What's Opera Doc?" would at least be in the Top 20. Hell, my Top 20 would probably consist mostly of those overrated Jones cartoons. |

I'm with you, Thad. Definitely two of my fave Warner Bros. cartoons. I prefer Fleischer cartoons, though, which is why such titles as Bimbo's Initiation, Superman, and Popeye meets Sindbad rank higher with me. |

I love those Fleischer shorts too, though for some reason I never liked Superman at all, period (or really anything superhero related). (I only watched the Lois & Clark reruns on TNT as a prepubescent boy for the half-naked Teri Hatcher.) For some reason, I always rate the usual candidates on a top Warner cartoons poll just as high personally. The Disney cartoons are a different story... |
