When I was in London in '97- I bought that VHS copy of Song of the South in the PAL format. A very good copy and I still have it.

I'm not a big fan of SONG OF THE SOUTH either. I love the animated segments, which are among Disney's finest animated work, but the live-action portions (which is what the suits at Disney object to) are disgracefully boring and rather racially insensitive.

Personally, I have more of a problem with the company not doing anything to allow James Baskett attend the world premiere of the film than releasing it to DVD, but that's just me.
