I recommend this creepy little film called The Orphanage. It's a classic horror film with a modern look.

A woman who grew up in an orphanage in a remote part of Spain returns after many years with her husband and small boy to create a school for special children on the now-deserted grounds. Then her boy begins talking to an invisible friend...

If you like the subtle horror of Val Lewton or enjoy a good story like Turn Of The Screw, you should like this one. Guillermo del Toro, director of the excellent Pan's Labyrinth produced this film, but he must have had a close working relationship with new director J.A. Bayona as much of the style is similar. It's in Spanish with English subtitles, but don't let that put you off. It's worth seeing.

I saw a preview for this last weekend and it looked good and I'm hoping to see it tomorrow. I'm a sucker for creepy flicks.
It's like Rodney King used to say, "Can't we all get a bong."

If Guillermo Del Toro produced it then it must be his way of saying thumbs up....

If Guillermo Del Toro is involved in any way, then that's all I need to hear. Count me in. The reviews for this film have been universally great, which is encouraging for any horror flick these days.
Always be yourself! Unless you can be Batman...then always be Batman!
