A friend of mine, Sonny, told me that the Disney's Zorro TV series was released commercially, but you had to be a member of a club. Sonny doesn't know too much else, so my question is: is he correct? If so, where can I get season 1 and 2? Or has Disney been holding back on the release of this series? |

Colorized collections of the Disney Zorro were released in Europe. Don't know if they're still available. Of course, the colorization is a negative. |

I recently ordered the first season from Amazon France - The box is in French but when you play the DVD the default language is English. It is indeed colourized but you can turn the colour off your TV if you are a purist. It is the Disney release. |

I have the French set, and found it unwatchable. The colors are garish, and turning the colors off leaves you with that bleached-out overly grey look. |

As of a couple of months ago you could join some Disney Video Club and get volumes in the original Black and White (if I remember correctly). They were along the lines of $20 for four episodes. Disney ZORRO Andy |

I joined the Disney Club just for the Zorro's. There was a special promotion for $2 per dvd. I got all 5 volumes of season one. They are colorized, but the colorization is actually very well done. That black night sky with a yellow "Z" cutting across the screen is pretty dramatic. I'm not a fan of colorization overall, but this is an example of how it can work well. The print quality is fantastic. Hope they release season two later this year. |

Buena Vista Video have brought out DVDs of Disney's Zorro. Originally $50 for 8 episodes, the price is now about $25 - works out about the same as the French ones! US Amazon have got 'em!

I know somebody must have mentioned it elsewhere, but Disney's Zorro -- both seasons in black & white, plus four color hours produced later for the Wonderful World of Color -- is the Disney Treasures offering for 2009. The Disney Movie Club versions were colorized (not too obtrusively, I thought), without the hour-long episodes or any extras. |
