Just saw "Assembly" (China 2007) a great film at the New York Asian Film Festival.

A gritty tale of the inhumanity of war, the humanity of those who fight in it and the aftermath on the land and the soldiers years later. While this is not a new concept, the execution is flawless and the storytelling mesmerizing. This has been the runaway hit of the festival and deservedly so.
