When Boy lets slip to some white visitors that there's gold in them thar African hills, evil Tom Conway kidnaps him and Jane to force Tarzan to show them where it is. Meanwhile, Cheeta makes lots of funny faces and does amusing things.

This one is practically a remake of the previous Tarzan film; Jane doesn't trust her man, and has to learn a dangerous lesson. Naturally, a lot of the stock footage is the same, including a charging rhino, Tarzan's fight with a mammoth crocodile, and that no-legged guy from Freaks dressed up like a dodo. I don't care, I loved it anyway (in fact, the whole FNF crowd loved it). I think partially that's 'cause it's just fun to drop in from time to time to see Johnny Weissmuller and Maureen O'Sullivan at home in their treehouse, partially because Cheeta is such a little scene stealer (he wrestles a lion cub and has a banana fight with an elephant in this one). Oh, and Barry Fitzgerald is comic relief too, and HE'S a funny little monkey. They even introduce a little African boy as a "best friend" for Boy. A real charmer, and one of the better Tarzans.
