Works for me, too. I like Don Cheadle, and I felt Howard was the weakest link in the first film. He sounded like Michael Jackson, not very intimidating for someone who will soon be known as War Machine.

Cheadle is a good actor. Better than Howard IMHO. Now let's see who they tap as the villain :D

Negotiations would have gone through Howards' agent. Although I'm sure they got his okay on a minimum dollar amount not to go below.

Entertainment Weekly gives the scoop in detail (including contacting the agents for actors) in the latest issue (with James Bond on the cover).

Basically, because Howard was hired before any of the other actors (for the first film) he ended up with the biggest payday. So when they went to write the sequel, Marvel had the writers reduce Rhodeys role in the film. They then went to Howard's agents with a new offer for the sequel, with a reported 50-80% pay cut over the first film. You can guess the rest.

Here's some news about the baddies that may appear in Iron Man 2.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090108/en_nm/us_ironman

There's a mention of a woman named "Natasha" who is one of Stark's assistants....

Could this be Natasha Romanov--The Black Widow? Let's hope. She may be in this one or a set-up for #3.

By the way check out the mention of Mickey Rourke's film "The Expendibles"...some pretty hard-hitting action figures in THAT film!!!

What happened to the Mandarin, the comic Iron Man's greatest foe? Looked like they were setting that up in the first film and now looks like it's scrapped. Too bad. Or the Titanium Man for that matter.

Just heard on the G4 Network that Samuel L. Jackson has signed on to Iron Man 2 and will appear as Nick Fury.

He is also scheduled to appear in NINE (yes, NINE!!) other Marvel hero movies, including Captain America and The Avengers!!

It's good to be 12 years old again!!

:D ;)

Frankly Scarlett, I DO give a damn. She should be fine. Odd villain choice of B-list baddie Whiplash to be played by Mickey Roarke. Hope they include the Mandarin also.
