Loved Elam in Support Your Local Sheriff. He also popped up in Cannonball Run.

Everyone knows that Jack Elam started out as an accountant, right?
According to IMDB, Jack was a book-keeper for Samuel Goldwyn Studios and later employed as controller for Hopalong Cassidy's production company.
Quite successful, he had to give it up when an opthamologist advised him that continuing to squint at columns full of figures could cost him the use of his good eye.
Lucky for Jack, lucky for us.

I need The Western Channel to start airing THE DAKOTAS sometime before the end of this decade.

Loved Elam in Support Your Local Sheriff.
I did, too -- he was also hysterical in Support Your Local Gunfighter.
