Science-Fiction meets Horror. A ballot for the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards have been posted. http://www.Rondoaward.com Online voting will continue through Saturday, March 22, 2009, with winners being announced Sunday evening, March 23. Voting is open to the public and anyone can participate. It's fun and only takes a few minutes. Obviously no one has been able to read all the books or watch all the movies they have in the categories, but if I may sway the decision a bit: THE TWILIGHT ZONE: UNLOCKING THE DOOR TO A TELEVISION CLASSIC has been nominated in the category of "Best Book." I purchased a copy of this book a few months ago and it floored me. It's the kind of book that may just change the way people do books on classic movies and TV shows in the future. I know there are books about TWILIGHT ZONE and I have all of them but this one is FREAKIN' PHENOMINAL. If you can, vote for it. It deserves to be noticed and an award will certainly do that. Small press publishing companies often put out better books than the large press. Even with the election over, we can still vote for what we enjoy! |

I assume the author gets a miniature bust of Rondo himself. At least that's how I interpreted the Rondo web-site. I recommend people vote every year for their favorites in the horror. I for one was happy to see that the VAMPYRE DVD Criterion release received it's due. So much good to choose from this year but like that book and the DVD, there were a few definate winners. |
