Fans of Sam Raimi's Evil Dead series have been hoping for some time that the director would dump "your friendly neighborhood web-head" and try his hand at another horror film. Well, he has, and the trailer can now be accessed at Yahoo Movies.

The plot involves a bank employee who is cursed by a gypsy woman for refusing to give her an extension on her mortgage. Plot-wise Mr. Raimi couldn't be much luckier with his timing, and reviews from early screenings have been positive. This is one of the films that I'm most looking forward to this year.

Here's the link to the trailer: DRAG ME TO HELL

Thanks for sharing. I haven't heard of this, but I like Raimi, and just watched Army Of Darkness the other night for the umpteenth time.

The film sems to reek of Thinner a bit.
It's like Rodney King used to say, "Can't we all get a bong."

Watching the Evil Dead series again, after 15 years away, it didn't hold up that much for me. Parts 1 & 2 are basically the same movie, and Part 3 is a lot more miss than hit.

I'll wait for DVD/rental on this one.

I just watched this one for the first time and I have to say that it is very good. Besides the cute Alison Lohman and its good scares, I was dreading the ending, but I was very surprised. It wasn't one of those horror endings that we see so much of that are so predictable when someone or something jumps from the screen to make audiences scream one last time! 8/10. Among the best in the genre I have seen!

My son and I saw this movie last year and loved it. Then I rented it and had some buddies in one snowy Sunday afternoon last winter and they also loved it.
Like a ramped-up modern Grimms fairy tale, the old hag puts an evil "curse" on that innocent girl. A good simple story horrifyingly laid out that you won't soon forget. After you've seen it -- report back here with your critiques.

Some very creepy stuff and a welcome anti-yupster message, but something about this movie didn't work for me. More and more with scary movies I'm aware of the silliness in the basic assumptions -- that you,re safe in a house that has bazillions of windows, that the thing to do when you're feeling threatened is take a bath, etc., etc. Hate to say it, but there are things a lot scarier than old gypsy women who try to drag you to a nonexistent place. If you're willing to let yourself be scared, this is above average -- if not, it's a waste of time. I didn't make it all the way through.

Interesting... Did you see "Paranormal Activity" or "Let the Right One" in, Mr. Panzer? I don't like horror films, but loved both of them, and wonder what you think (I haven't seen any of the Raimi films mentioned in this thread).

I saw the foreign movie Let the Right One In, Mr. G, and thought it was a good idea, but awful slow. Maybe the American one is better. I've seen some good Korean horror flicks, but like I say, scary movies don't scare me any more, so what's the point? Used to love them the best, don't like 'em now. Real life is scarier. Plus this whole vampire fad hecks me off. Vampires belong to the teen me, not the whole friggin' world.
