Anyone here seen Teen Titans Go? It's not part of Adult Swim, but a portion of the everyday programming on Cartoon Network.... & for my money it's the only really funny thing they've got going.

The humor in the series comes from the group actually acting like adolescents (& in some cases, pre-adolescents). Robin, for instance, is a preening, self-absorbed narcissist & Beast Boy & Cyborg frequently come on as nine-year olds at their silliest.

Couldn't help but wonder how this production ever got green-lighted in the first place. As I remember, The Teen Titans, at one time, were a pretty big franchise for DC…. & they were taken QUITE seriously. Wrote Mark Evanier & asked him about it. He was nice enough to reply, but said he knew nothing about the series.

Oh well.....

The Teen Titans haven't been a big thing at DC in years. Back in the 80s, they competed with Marvel's X-Men franchise and the series was running on all cylinders. Since then, there have been numerous reboots, including teams with all new characters only, but to no avail. The Teen Titans have never again ascended to those heights of popularity.

It seems my grandkids hate this program.... & I can understand why. At 15 & 13, they belong to the age group the program lampoons.

I'm no fan of Teen Titans Go!, it just can't keep my interest (I'm probably too old for the demographic they're aiming for anyways). I do enjoy the previous Teen Titans cartoon that was on Cartoon Network several years ago. It's worth checking out and the season sets are pretty inexpensive. Plus, the theme song is pretty cool!

If you don't get the obvious satire in the program, I agree you're not in the age demographic they're writing for.... but not for the reason you think.

Actually, I think the creators are writing pretty much for their own amusement & hope the kids won't notice.

My great cartoon discovery from last year is Cartoon Swims "Rick And Morty." It's very smart, outlandish, adult and funny.
My son, who does sculpting, props and special-effects for TV and commercials, always watches several episodes with me when he comes back to Ohio for home cooking. He says the show has a very big following in L.A. with weekend "R & M" get togethers.

RICK & MORTY and THE VENTURE BROS. are the two Adult Swim shows well worth watching.
