Just read a scary rumor that Frank Miller is being considered for directing Buck Rogers (gulp!)

Speaking of Buck, the NY Times did an article the other day on how classic science-fiction clothing is inspiring modern design(!), and it's illustrated with a still from what they call Buck Rogers. It's actually from Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe, which I brought to their attention. Say what you will about the Times' coverage sorely lacking in the Bush/Cheney rush to war, but this may be the greatest faux pas in the paper's history!

... the NY Times did an article the other day on how classic science-fiction clothing is inspiring modern design....
I always thought many of the concert costumes of 70's black bands like Parliament, Earth, Wind And Fire et al., were inspired by old science fiction attire, guess I'm just nerdy. How old is the writer of the NY Times' article, 30?

The Commodores had some pretty spacey concert clothes too. Also Sci Fi-like lighting and smoke effects. Fun shows.

I've been noticing that the upcoming Comic-Con schedules are being released and apparently set for Friday July 24 is a Buck Rogers panel, celebrating the character's 80th year. The info I stated both Gil Gerard and Erin Gray will be there along with news on the potential movie. Hopefully it'll be that Frank Miller was told not to let the door him slam him on the rear and a new director will be announced.
