Having just learned, I must with the heaviest of hearts report to my fellow Balconeers that Grey Pilgrim died Easter Sunday morning.

Please say a prayer for Dennis and his daughter, Sarah.

Thanks for letting us know Batman. It is very tragic news, and it saddens me.

RIP Grey Pilgram!

RIP Grey Pilgram!

LOL...thanks for the laugh, Stony. I really needed it this morning. It was quite a shock.

And I know that Grimy would have appreciated one last Stony Spelling Error, in his honour.

Grey Pilgrim was so full of the joy of life that it's hard to believe he's gone: A bright light has gone out. All we can do is try to remember the good times...the lovely piece he wrote about reuniting with his childhood sweetheart...the silly games he invented that still live and flourish. Though we never met outside of cyberspace, I always looked forward to his posts and will miss him.

I too was saddened by the unwelcome news of Dennis's demise of an apparent heart attack, among my emails this morning. I'd only known him a little over a year, since joining The Balcony, but we'd become good friends. I'm going to miss him.

R.I.P. Dennis.

Well said, Paul.

I still can't believe it...but I feel, with his footprint firmly entrenched throughout The Balcony, Grimy will be missed dearly and remembered often.

And, thanks, for reminding me about the post concerning his long-lost love. One of my all-time favourites of all the posts I have read, in all of cyberspace.

Upon seeing this, I almost blacked out, I couldn't believe it.

I didn't know Grey Pilgrim like others in here, but knew he had a massive presence and was well respected, and still is.

A main man gone. :( My thoughts are with everyone here and to his family, relatives and friends, he shall be missed very much.

I just looked back to see what his last post was and it was posted on the 10th. Grey Pilgrim or any of us never knew that he would be gone so soon.

Rest in Peace, Grey Pilgrim.

My first thought on reading this was that he was never able to finish all those Shadow novels he seemed to love.

Let’s hope they have a good reading room in whatever land he now inhabits, and a direct feed into the OTR library of his choice.

Jesus, I'm shocked.

How very, very sad. My most sincere condolences to his family. May he rest in peace. His presence will be felt here in the Balcony for a very long time.

I don't know why I didn't think of this before, probably just overcome with the suddenness of it all, but I know Dennis would've liked the chance to say good-bye to all of his Balcony friends and give them something to remember him by. So here's GP and Sarah:

Thanks for the picture Chandu. I always wondered what GP looked like.

Thanks for posting the picture also, Chandu.

Enjoyed reading Grey Pilgrim's posts and feel like I've lost a friend. I never met him in person, but bantering in cyberspace can still establish a connection.

With deepest sympathy to his family, rest in peace, Grey.
