Didn’t know where else to post this, but since it had a pirate dream sequence I thought here was appropriate. Checked this early talky out this week. Fun premise, an hour of enjoyment. Some say early talkies have very wooden performances, but for some reason I really enjoy them. There is a pirate scene where the leading man actually cups the breasts of the attractive woman in his hands while he ogles. Another pleasant surprise was Mary Brain, who played the daughter of WC and was also in CC in Paris. Checked out the IMBD after watching and it confirmed this was a play in 1921.That got me thinking that some of my other favorite feature films came from plays (A and OL, Harvey, Seven Keys to Baldpate). As I love old movies I was wishing somehow I could go see these early plays at there first running. I did get to see “The Mouse Trap” in London in 05. Has this ever been made into a feature film?
