Jeremy Theobald is never named in the film, but he is noted in the credits as "The Young Man". Jeremy is a wannabe writer, and he likes to follow people, just people he doesn't know, and he follows them randomly. He follows one guy, Cobb (Alex Haw), to a diner and is confronted by Cobb, and since Cobb realizes he's being followed, he tells the youngster that he robs peoples homes. This gets Jeremy interested and he starts assisting Cobb in robbing. Jeremy's life starts to spiral out of control, even though he thinks he's being clever.

The film is shot in black and white and is only 70 mins. long. There isn't much music, but what there is, it's used effectively. Both of these facts are probably because the film seems independant, and is Nolan's 2nd film. The film is told in present and past scenes, with an option to watch the film chronologically on the Columbia/Tri-Star disc. The telling of the film is reminiscent of Memento, or vice versa, since Memento came later. Memento is one reason I rented this from Netflix, that reason and 3 others: Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Prestige. I saw Insomnia but wasn't too hip on it, although I had an uneasy feeling watching it, akin to Pacino's character in the film.

Stony observation: Jeremy's flat door has an oval Batman logo on it. Prophetic? Cha-ching!!!

Stony rating: 3.5 bong hits outta 5
