I did not find this film exciting and think it easily the weakest of the four "X-Men" films. Although the special effects were great and there were a few good moments, I thought the overly-complex and meandering plot rather boring. Jackman is good but even he can't save this mediocre mess.

Fans should take note there is a brief scene after the credits at the end. It's a quick joke scene (right out of the comic book). While amusing, it certainly isn't worth sitting through the endless end credits to see.

A tepid start to the summer blockbuster season.

Bob Bloom (aka Zorro) on Rottentomatoes.com has written an excellent review of this first summer blockbuster. I agree on almost all points.

Jackman and Shrieber are excellent, the movie is fun and the scene after the credits sets up the next movie, which will (hopefully) be based on the first Wolverine mini-series.

Not the best film, but loads better than X-Men 3: The Last Stand.

If X-Men 3 was the Batman Forever of the X-franchise, this is Batman and Robin. Jackman tried his best but even he couldn't save this turkey. Maybe its time for Marvel to stop making every character they own into movies because the pile of junk they've made keeps getting larger and larger. Oh well, bring on Kirk and Spock.

Not interested in that one at all. I would rather see movies about characters that have never been done, than to rehash an old franchise.

Not to get an arguement going but what the heck is Wolverine but a character that has been done to death. He's had 4 films, a plethora of comics, a slew of TV animated series, so he ain't exactly a spring chicken. Plus at this point, four films in, comic book rot sets in. It's something that Spider-Man 4 is going to learn the hard way.

Not to continue an argument, but with that logic there would have been no DARK KNIGHT. And the world would be a poorer place without that great movie about me.

Of course, using your logic, there also would have been no SUPERMAN RETURNS, which the world definitely could have lived without.

Sometimes it seems Hollywood is mostly about recooked hash.
Broadway, too.

No kidding, BT. I read yesterday that they are remaking a whole slew of movies from the 1980s!?!?

Do we really need another Nightmare on Elm Street?

They'll keep making sequels so long as the box office comes in. That's the ONLY reason they continue to make sequels.

Film lacked. Seen better prequels and the cute touches from the first X-MEN movies are not there. Jackson, however, isn't hurting his career with this one.

Yeah sequels do bring in some money.

But just think of how much better it would be to craft a really good sequel that pleases fans and moviegoers so they actually become excited about it. Think the recent Star Trek film. Think BIG bucks and happy viewers.
