Will Reggie go postal and blow them all away? The Archie comics milestone issue #600, “Part 1: The Proposal” of this multi-part story hits America’s corner newsstands August 2009. I know who the chosen one is but won't spill the beans here. I enjoyed the Archie comics in the very early 60’s and still have a few in the basement. Always liked how “well” the girls were drawn!

Just fast food and the occasional local pizza place, and they frowned on hanging out. Your first wheels would not be an ancient but surprisingly reliable jalopy but your mom's station wagon that steered like a boat. The Reggies always won and the Mooses tended to beat you up.

Panzer's prediction: Archie proposes to Veronica, she accepts, but something gets screwed up about the wedding and Betty gets him after all. As everybody knows, Reggie is who Veronica deserves, and she will get him or I will never buy another Archie comic (like I would).

I doubt they're going to turn a successful kid-focused comic empire into Funky Winkerbean ("In this issue: Jughead's Prostate Exam!"). As for the rivalry, I remember the dynamic as Archie chases Veronica while Betty chases Archie, but often enough Archie was desperately trying to remain in Betty's good graces. One story ended with a tearful Veronica, nose literally pressed against the window, watching Betty feed Archie junk food on an old sofa. What's the use of wealth if it can't buy a nerd in a sweater vest? Of course, most boys had mentally scripted a story where the girls' competition for Archie's affections naturally leads to a series of increasingly steamy . . . You'll have to excuse me.

Posts: 1,428 Group: Members Member #73 Joined: January 1, 2006	1) Archie marries Midge. 2) Moose & Veronica have a brief consolation affair with each other... but it goes nowhere. 3) Betty becomes the Riverdale town slut. 4) Jughead comes out of the closet. 5) Reggie accepts a prestige job from a rich(er) uncle & moves out of town.
