With me, it's the fact that the Chan films are so similar and so slow-moving. When I reviewed that boxed set that Warners came out with, I am not kidding - after falling asleep through the first 3 or 4 of 'em, I finally watched one on a Saturday morning, fresh pot of coffee next to me, sitting upright on an uncomfortable wooden chair I'd set in the middle of my living room.

Even THEN, it was tough to keep my peepers on the screen.

That movie with Sean Connery and Michelle Pfeiffer, the one about Russia, puts me to sleep every time, and it's really kinda interesting, but he pace is so slow.

I've gotten to the stage that I can fall asleep to most anything. I can't begin to count the times I've awakened, remembering my last thought before falling asleep was, "Well I certainly don't have to worry about falling asleep during this ______, because I really want to see this!"
Not plane, nor bird, nor even frog. It's just little ol' me...

Me too, Chandu. I never seem to fall asleep during Japanese flicks, but the rest are a real problem. Just call me Bilbo Baggins. Can't seem to get enough sleep. But the Chans put me to sleep when I was a kid. For me they define boredom.
