I had stayed away because of the stupid critics, but went today and loved it. Produced by the folks who do LOST, the only TV show I still watch, and it's intelligent as can be, but intelligent with lots of explosions, if you get my drift. I look forward to sequels IF they are produced by the same people. This thing has a serious and coherent story, preserves the show's anti-racist stance, but that's not what's amazing: the amazing thing is that the planet Vulcan gets blown up in the first half hour, so I don't think mentioning it can be considered a major spoiler. Kirk and Spock start off as enemies too. I'm telling you, this thing has more twists and turns than a Slinky. Five stars. On a much higher level than any other Trek flick, and Nimoy is back in a pivotal part.

There's more on this in the It Came From Beyond The Balcony thread.

Don't blindly follow stupid critics. Follow reviewers here!
