Nice choices- but I have to disagree on Bond- some outstanding films and some real "cartoons"- the newest Bonds with Danial Craig could be bringing the series back to where it was with Connery- I hope

I agree with James Bond and the Peter Sellers' Pink Panther films. Like any long-running series, some are better than others. Best film series, though... Well, the Laurel & Hardy series, naturally. I am also partial to the eight Frankenstein pictures made by Universal in the '30s and '40s.

I think the first ones were cartoonish- but they were new and got away with it- the "Q" toys were "reasonable- but Jaws? Moon raker?

This thread has sure broadened my idea of what a series is. I never would have thought of Laurel and Hardy, yet it is obviously a series (protagonists keeping the same name seems to be the only defining thing).
