I liked it. There were things that brought back the hormonal embarrassments of the teen years with startling accuracy -- it's a remarkably good screenplay considering that if you altered any plot points the kids would crucify you -- and Rupert Grint is coming into his own as a comic actor. This is his movie. Without spoilers I can say no more, except that the girl who plays Harry's future bride has turned out to be quite the fox. |

Me and the Missus saw the new Harry Potter today and aside from a couple of scenes where it seemed to bog down we thoroughly enjoyed it and this one is setting up the 2 part finale which will wrapup the series on a very high note and yes Potter's future bride is drop dead gorgeous. Alan Richman when he is on the screen as Professor Snape you can't take your eyes off of him. Paul you're right this is Rupert Grint's coming out party. Barcroft |

I thought it was okay; the part with the kids and their romances and interactions was fine (although I disagree with your assessment of the future Mrs. Potter) and it was nice to have a quidditch match onscreen again, but... one of the best scenes in all the books was omitted (the Prime Minister of Magic meets the Prime Minister of Muggles) and there is a surprising lack of "Wow!" special effects; no flying lizards or CGI monsters here. A satisfactory installment, but nothing more to me. The two biggest Potter fans I know, my ex-wife and son Bone Gravy, positively hated it. |

To each his own, said the old lady as she kissed the cow. If the buried special effects tomorrow, I'd dance on their graves. What I like about this one is that the teens act like teens, as opposed to John Hughes movies, where they act like how teens would like to look. |
