I just saw this on thedigitalbits.com under Barrie Maxwell's Classic Coming Attractions. VCI is releasing their version at the end of August. I know the SS has their own version but should I wait for the VCI version or spring for the other one?

The Squadron version contains none of Dr. Grood's 'excesses' and is a pretty decent transfer. Dr. G can do good work as even his detractors will admit. I doubt the VCI version will be wildly better; so, if you want one now there is little reason to wait. Of course, if you can wait, you can shop price and see whatever extras VCI may add. (The SS version has no extras that I can recall.)

Once I thought if I bought the good things Eric did, it would teach him right from wrong. Now I see he prefers to do wrong, and I won't support that. The dark side is the dark side.

Why is it that you can find information about the release on Amazon and Borders.com, but not on VCI's own site? it's not listed under new releases, news, sneak peaks or the serial catalog.

Again I agree with Mr. Panzer. Radio Patrol is a pretty good serial with some decent chapter endings. A little piece of trivia: check the passenger door of the Police Car Grant Withers uses in the serial and you'll see that the decal on that side is wrinkled.

Anyone notice who doubled Grant Withers? I was surprised when I saw who. RADIO PATROL is a good serial, but like SECRET AGENT X-9 it looks a lot older than serials made a couple of years later. It probably has more fights than any other Universal, but of course they were before fight choreography was perfected. Every fight had the same scenes of Withers throwing punches in front of a blank wall with two shadowy lines behind him. Much of the action took place in a steel mill, and the location work was vastly superior to the footage in chapter two of THE FIGHTING DEVIL DOGS, the next year.

I'm guessing possibly Eddie Parker doubling Withers.

I'd be surprised if Radio Patrol had more fights than Pirate Treasure.

The most Godawful thing happened, and I have to tell you guys. I put the Pirate Treasure DVD into my Mac, and the sonuva sonnuva erased it without rhyme or reason. Then it erased another DVD-R. My first Apple complaint ever. Bottom line: I still haven't seen Pirate T. Arggggh. Why me? Why always me?

It sounds like you were using a rewritable DVD. With right once blank DVDs available for around 25 cents if bought in bulk, why would you use a rewritable where your data could be erased?

Wasn't my idea; it's a disc I bought from Rodney. Anyway the point is why would a computer reformat a disc without being told to? This is an ITunes problem I think.
