www.oldiedvd.com now has a 16mm transfer of Springtime In The Rockies available. Thought I would mention it since there has been some discussion about it here. |

If it's a Trucolor Roy Rogers film, I think that Springtime in the Sierras, not Rockies; that's a 1937 Gene Autry film. As far a the Roy is concerned, it's my favorite Rogers film. I has a good story, good acting, some laughs from Andy Devine, some of my favorite songs from Roy and the Sons of the Pioneers, a rousing musical score ant probably the best action scenes of any William Witney-directed Roy Rogers movie. Definitely a 5 star movie! |

You would be right, of course. I corrected the title. |

I can verify it's in color. And worthy of replacing the black and white prints that even the Westerns Channel has been playing. This is the first time the color print has ever been made available or seen in decades. |

I have a copy and it is far superior to any copy that has been available before. It is also one of my favorite Roger's films. Now, if some one could find a couple more of the 'lost Trucolor Rogers' it would make 2009 a banner year. Two I would really like to see are Grand Canyon Trail and The Far Frontier. I've had them uncut in b&w for years, but seeing them in color would be a wonderful treat. |

Would also like to see EYES OF TEXAS in color. But thank you, Rodney, for SPRINGTIME IN THE SIERRAS. It was one of the better Roy Rogers films. Back to Hopalong Cassidy Saturday morning... |
