Granted Sunday is the bigger chat night. But still to have only one chatter this early on a Wed. shows just what Doc's antics have lead the Squadron to.

Charter Member Posts: 496 Group: Members Member #30 Joined: September 5, 2005	It is sad but true that the Squadron is almost dead now, and that almost all the the staunchest supporters all left after this year's SerialFest fiasco. Several long time members were banned from the Squadron afterwards. At the most Grood only has one other person in the chat room with him. At the new chat room sometimes we have a dozen people, all of them former Squadron members. Almost all of the problem is that Grood is too much of a control freak, and he won't listen to what other people want. If you post and he doesn't approve, he would delete or edit your post. I was told that at SerialFest, the food and service at the restaurant was terrible, and everyone told him they weren't going to eat there anymore, but he informed them that they would eat there. SerialFest always had a fixed number of attendees, the same people came almost every year. Understandably, he wants to increase attendance His solution is to include non-cliffhanger films, most of them are dreadful, and put on plays, which no one wants to see. The stunt show at 2002 was very well done, and a lot of fun, but most are a waste of time and money. Where he hurts himself the most is when there is an issue on something, he will often write long rants, filled with insults against fans who have done absolutely no wrong. One good friend of mine was put off after Doc wanted to "improve" a listing he was compiling, and changed it. I emailed Grood asking for him to change it back for the sake of peace, and he responded by questioning my friend's love life, or lack of one. After this year's SerialFest he went on one of his usual tirades, attacking the most loved member of the Squadron, and "his fking daughter." You are an intelligent, creative person, and we considered you our friend. When you do something right, everyone gives you the credit you deserve. Last year you correctly went through all channels and we were able to see DAREDEVILS OF THE WEST. The people you dealt with at Paramount, James D'Arc who was in charge of the print, those of us who were lucky enough to see it, all had respect for what you did. When you release a serial DVD that is of a higher quality than any other print out there, and don't make any changes to it, you have received total praise for doing a great job on it. You have put more work into restoring serials than anyone else would, but for every positive thing you do, you do something to hurt yourself in everybody's eyes. Sorry, Doc, but it is you who are responsible for the decline of the Squadron. There are dozens of serial fans whom you alienated, yet you always blame everyone else. Everyone else is in the wrong. What's sad about somebody getting what he went out of his way to get? The guy worked like a beaver to offend me, so he must be pleased that I avoid him. If he released a twofer of Daredevils of the West and Brenda Starr for ten bucks I wouldn't buy it, even if he threw in the Drums of Fu Manchu he falsely promised a decade ago. Don't forget, he's not just a control freak, he's also a liar, a thief, a coward and a birdbrain who defaces old movies just to show people he's boss. Well, now he's king in an empty palace and I hope he likes it. I hadn't heard the deal about the restaurant before. That's the most pathetic thing yet.

I would love to see someone tell a 6'4" 225 pound fan that they "had" to eat there LOL

Whatever. But... I'm not that nice a guy, and I expect and demand that you at least be a decent, honest fellow, and some people fall short of my standards. Anyway, whatever. It's not surprising that I would piss people off. But... Pa Stark? How could anybody piss off Pa Stark? That's like... pissing off Lassie, you'll forgive the comparison, Pa. Pa is just a nice, affable, all-around pleasant guy. How could Grood or ANYBODY have a problem with him? I don't understand.

Also, by working closely with him he will grant permission to hold a "SerialFest" and assist in the advertising by sending flyers to pass out. You do have to be a member in good standing of the Squadron and agree that no Bootleg vendors will be in attendance. He is very generously providing this assistance for no fee. If you are a longtime trusted member he may send Serial Squadron DVDs and other merchandise to sell at the "SerialFest". That is pretty much it in a nutshell.
