Movies Unlimited shows a pre-order listing for The Three Stooges Collection Vol. 7 - 1952-1954, November 10, 2009. This should be considered tentative information, until official information is confirmed by Sony. |

November 10th is the release date for this Shemp collection. But it is up in the air whether the two 3D shorts will actually be in 3D. |

Looked at a few of these this week. It's disconcerting, I have to tell ya, to see Three Stooges shorts in widescreen! Talk about "like seeing 'em for the first time." This set comes with only two pairs of 3-D glasses (what's up with THAT? There were THREE Stooges!) which is chintzy. So I ordered a plethora of additional pairs, which you cannot do through Sony (that I know of). I ordered them from 3DStereo.com, and if you do that, order the ones for the movie "Journey to the Center of the Earth" because you do NOT want red/green glasses; these are pink/green glasses. Don't ask me why. Anyway, the 3D effects looked much better than I expected, particularly on "Pardon My Backfire" (as opposed to "Spooks"). It's more "depth" than "jumping out at the screen" though, but my FNF crowd is going to enjoy it, I tells ya. What with the silent Our Gang films and the short subjects (Benchley at last!) that Warners has released, I could do FNF with nothing more than shorts festivals every week. If I wanted. |
