I met Peck once. He was as embarassed as I was. I used to have a hard time approaching celebrities before I learned they're just people, and this occasion helped me learn that. I don't know who outblushed who. A really nice man, and of course a sensational actor. What a wonderful career! Imagine: Spellbound, Roman Holiday and Cape Fear, not to mention 12 O'Clock High, The World In His Arms and I don't know how many others.

Well, there was a little thing called "To Kill a Mockingbird", too.

Just read a great interview with Madeline Smith (60) on BBC teletext - her first Hammer of 3 was in the bordello scene in Taste the Blood of Dracula.

She described Roger Moore in Live and Let Die (she was in his first scene) as a 'divine being' and thought he 'looked smashing'! :D

Titan Books have just brought out Hammer Glamour by Marcus Hearn and Madeline is on the cover - must order thattun from the library!
