Nah - the recently beknighted Sir Christopher has bin described by a fellow poster, no names, no pack-drill (hornswoggle, Kobrak the Vampire, karbok) as 'wooden', but it's not so, IMHO. A good example is Lee's performance in Dr. Terror's House of Horrors - he runs the gamut of emotions in that one, and I don't mean from A to B! ![]() His starmaking performance must've bin in Battle of the River Plate where he played a riverside bar owner in Montevideo determined to capitalise on the confrontation between the Royal Navy and the German Pocket Battleship, Graf Spee, captained by that great Australian, Peter Finch; Lee's part was small, but he almost, IMHO, hilariously stole the whole picture with his efforts to attract customers. And *nobody* dies (in a good way, so to speak) like Lee's Dracula! ![]() |

I have to agree. Calling Lee wooden makes absolutely no sense to me. He's made any number of cool acting choices; my favorite is in Dracula, Prince of Darkness when he hisses like a cat. Peter Cushing, now, that's another story. He always wears the same glum expression, no matter what's going on. He's not really an actor at all, just a reciter of lines. |

I still like Lee's comedic turn in the movie Serial, which is one of my all-time guilty pleasures. |

I've always enjoyed his performance in The Man With the Golden Gun. Love the excited look on his face when finally meets Bond face to face for the first time. He looks almost giddy. |

I think his acting is as wooden as a stake through the heart! |

Yes, Francisco Scaramanga thought it was a great honor to meet Jimmy Bond; Jimmy told him he was full of... er, nonsense! ![]() |

Drac hissed? That's shown quite a lot on TV in England and I often tune in for a snatch; I've always fancied Barbara Shelley and Suzan Farmer. Scars of Dracula showed up recently with Cockney Dennis Waterman being very posh and very brave. The Satanic Rites of Dracula has been shown many times on, IIRC, TCM - time has not been very kind to that one, but there's a dandy encounter between Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee! ![]() That great American, Rupert Murdoch, has some Hammers and at least one Drac flick on his subscription channels. ![]() |

If it's OK with you, we'd rather regard Mr. Murdoch as a great immigrant. He doesn't think like a modern American. |

He doesn't arf have a lot of influence - it's said we haven't joined the Euro cos Murdoch's against it - mind you, probably a good thing!
