Received last night and watched disc 2. Image and sound perfectly acceptable, and the actual shorts run anywhere from 7 to 10 minutes. Some are definitely funnier than others, but they all have their moments.

Benchley lecturing on anything is usually a slam dunk, but I was surprised that sitcom-type plots could hold up so well:

In "Mental Poise," he plays a psychiatrist and one of his patients (nice camera effects). No farce or slapstick; it's mainly two Benchleys trying to talk while pretending everything's fine. Very low-key and very funny -- including the opening with another very-slightly-off patient.

"Opening Day" has Benchley as a city treasurer invited to throw out the first ball. His off-the-cuff speech just keeps rolling, as the ballpark crowd and the players get increasingly annoyed. Benchley has the gift of playing a bore without boring the viewer.
