Greater Wilder Vintage Film Society; .....or, I rip off FNF and move it to KY

After reading for years, first on the old Mystery Press board, then Serial Squadron and now here, about all of the fun that Gravy's been having with FNF, I decided to blatently rip it off and do my own event.

Unlike FNF, a weekly get-together simply isn't possible. We're aiming for every three weeks, liberally. Now......this poses a problem for serials. My solution to that is, unless we're showing a first or last chapter, we're going to run 2 chapters a night, with the comedy short inbetween them. I know LG wouldn't approve, but what the heck. I gotta work with what I got.

We're also running a vintage intermission program instead of music videos inbetween the shorts and the feature.

This weekend, we're serving pizza, a big bowl of candy, popcorn and beer if you want it.

The program is:

Baseball Bugs (1946)
So You Want To Give Up Smoking (1942)
Zorro's Fighting Legion Chapter 1 (1939)
Alcohol Is Dynamite (early 60's?)
The 7th Voyage of Sinbad

......and of course, all Balconeers are invited.

I wanted to get some of those plastic retro-looking popcorn buckets, but nobody locally has them.

We had a great time last night. The kids were really taken with 7th Voyage of Sinbad, and I think the short subjects were a big hit, especially Alcohol Is Dynamite.

I think everyone had a great time, and we're doing it again on the Nov 27th.
