Not banned but recent visits to the serial sqaudron find it to be rather less lively than it used to be. It was the first Ezboard - yuku group i joined and used to be a favorite now it's not worth a visit. The balcony is a lot better.

Stony:
The last time I looked at the SS site was back during the April Fools post.

'Bout the same for me.

My friend Todd managed to get banned four times.
How do you get banned four times? Did he get reinstated the first three times due to good behavior? Did money change hands?

I'm not sure of the story, but I believe the first three times were more minor, and Todd and Grood made peace. It was after the 2009 SerialFest disaster that it hit the fan, and everyone went over to Todd's board that was dormant for a few years. As for me being banned, I just don't feel comfortable telling people outside my circle of friends in the Cliffhanger site the story. The only reason I told them about what happened was some things also involved them.

How did Todd and Grood reconcile three times? Easy: some of their friends kept trying to get them back together. Now Grood has fired ALL the clique members, so it's no longer possible. Strange fellow: tizzy after tizzy after tizzy. A guy who's up all night doing tiny little things on the computer, and constantly puts distance between himself and all his friends? Gee, I've heard about that behavior somewhere. Can you say...tweaker?

Well, I see it's no longer being advertised as "Coming in July or August." Now it's simply "In Production."

Uh huh. I believe he first announced this project in 2001. He took people's money although, according to a contributor to this site, he didn't have the film. Who knows what's going on this time -- but perhaps you might wait until it really has come out, just as a precaution.

Does anyone here know what the reason is for DRUMS OF FU MANCHU being delayed. Someone said it was for "technical reasons." I just don't feel like corresponding with Grood to find out.

Glad you brought that up, Pa. Eric wrote the following back in August:

"Half the transfer is complete and because the film is old and shrunk a little the picture needs to be stabilized to eliminate the slight waver that comes with this condition."

I know zip re film restoration, so the preceding is all Greek to me. Could someone with more knowledge than I (shouldn't be hard) please 'splain.

Thanks!

Nitrate film is pretty unstable and can either stretch (or more usually) shrink with time. It doesn't do this evenly of course. As a result when old film like this is fed through a projector or telecine the sprocket holes don't always line up perfectly and the slight differences in frame sizes can all lead to wavering of the picture. At least that's how it was explained to me. There are mechanisms to correct for this but they are not always perfect and take a considerable amount of time to implement.

To put Eric's reasons another way,

"Blah Blah Excuse. Blah Blah Alibi. Blah Blah Bullshit."

I'd love to know the excuse for Masked Rider Volume 3. Oh, wait. That's right. There is NO excuse.
