There were presumably kosher Televista releases of this and some other Youngson features in the past few years. They look only so-so, but given the source materials and the state of film preservation, not sure they could ever look really good unless you substituted footage from later restorations. That said, "Days of Thrills and Laughter" is a favorite because it mixes in non-comic thrill and stunt scenes.

My one nitpick with Youngson is his knack for the occasional buzzkill commentary: "Just a few months after this hilarious comedy, a tragic accident with a cheese grater ended his career and he died a broken man, selling chipmunk pelts door to door. But for now, let's remember him with all ten fingers on a sunny day in Griffith Park . . . "

Well, VCI is doing "Days" so one anticipates it will be in great shape.

"The First Kings of Comedy" DVD from a couple of years ago (Genius) had a flawless, stellar print of "Golden Age of Comedy" and an okay print of "When Comedy was King".

Is this the one that was released years ago on VHS and had the Lillian Gish ice jump across the river in it?
Vague recollection and the website doesn't give details.
