I mentioned this over at Tumbleweed Terrace but will repeat here that at least 2 more John Wayne westerns come to Blu-ray in May: The Comancheros and The Horse Soldiers. I expect to get both of those. |

Yes, but Warners hasn't given us a date yet. |

I saw Zazie (which was the American title) at least six times when it came out. It took the innovations of Breathless a good deal further. Today it's known for inspiring the "Swinging Sixties" style and even MTV. The story deliberately makes no sense at all but moves at a furious clip. I guess this Blu-Ray means they did a restoration, which it needed. Originally the color was gorgeous, as only French color can be, and this film uses color creatively. Kiss Me Deadly tops my "must" list. I don't have it in any format. We'll see if Blu-Ray makes enough difference in a B&W programmer for me to join the Digital Or Die Club. It's never had a really good home video release, though the last one, a DVD, at least had both endings. Maybe there are other outtakes. Now how's about The Big Knife, Attack!, The Killing of Sister George and Ulzana's Raid getting the same treatment? Somebody once wrote that Robert Aldrich was America's Buñuel. Maybe it was me, come to think of it. He certainly had his own slant, decidedly leftist, and that's interesting, him being a Rockefeller and all. |

Oh, sure, Andy, I couldn't agree more. Copies of it just tend to fly away from here. |

I wish the original I, THE JURY would come out on disc. Preferrably in 3-D. I really enjoyed seeing it back in 2006. Biff Elliot is the most goonish looking Hammer there was. On top of which, it's pretty darn close to the actual book. |

speaking of Blu Ray.......any remote word on Thief of Bagdad (1940) however both the MGM basic release and the Criterion are both fantastic prints...... |

I think you can expect it from Criterion at some point but who knows when. Criterion has been gradually replacing their current DVD catalog with new Blu-Ray/DVD editions. |

I think the Dietrich set is DVD only, Paul. |
