According to my notes made at the time, the ending Captain America credits are missing from all chapters but 7 & 15; and the chapter 1 opening credits are cloned onto all but chapters 12 through 15 (which have the short version).

So if it was a disc capacity issue, it would have made a lot more sense to loop the short version credits onto chapters 2 - 15 where I assume they originally belonged, and stick some of the ending credits back in.

The comments I and Gravy made on the Porky thread about "Captain America" were rooted in a discussion of what "purists" are looking for. It has morphed into something else.

At this late date I don’t care at all about Grood or anything he does, but he still rates an "F" in my book as someone a purist could trust, simply because his credit changes were so completely inexplicable at the time, made without advance notice to his specialist customers who were sure to pick up on them, and downright sloppy.

Of course I don’t really think he did it just to spite people. If he had other motivations, I would not care to speculate what they were. But he obviously did have the original materials do the a better job and IMO blew it. That's all there was to anything I said.

When Grood releases a serial, he only does it if he can find an excellent print of it. 90% of the time he does a better job, and he will spend more time working on a print than anyone else would ever dream of. Five reels of sound are missing from DAREDEVILS OF THE WEST, and he spent G-d knows how much time recreating it, including music, dialogue, and sound effects. With THE LONE RANGER, he took the English sound track from the battered Spanish subtitled print, and merged it with a much better print that was dubbed into French, and kept it perfectly in sync. His WOLF DOG is by far the best print of it going around. He found three plus chapters of the long lost silent Mascot serial, ISLE OF SUNKEN GOLD.
But when he screws up the 10% of the time, he really blows it royally. He obtained an excellent print of THE PHANTOM EMPIRE, and attempted to modernize it, by adding background music, and purple tinting for ray gun blasts. No one wanted that, but that is what he wanted to do, so he hurt himself big time there.

Or if he can steal an excellent print of it, as he did with Daredevils of the West, betraying Jim D'Arc's trust and making things infinitely more difficult for legitimate researchers and archivists who might need BYU's cooperation in the future.
