Undersea Kingdom came to mind when I spotted the cruiser.
It's like Rodney King used to say, "Can't we all get a bong."

That thing may have a longer filmography than Anthony Warde!
Not plane, nor bird, nor even frog. It's just little ol' me...

I can't stand the cheap ape costumes - it makes phony gorillas look even phonier.

Yes and yes. I cracked up when the first native was beaned on the noggin with the rock, and I knew the native holdin' the rope was gonna get it too, that 2nd beanin' was too obvious for a serial.

Tim Tyler as Dr. Dolittle and can a kid get some oats or something for the water to at least look a little like quicksand?

LOL - yes, those apes were hilarious throwing those heavy rocks - the last time I saw that in a film was Rock Hudson's Apaches in Taza, Son of Cochise - my Dad was highly amused!

And that black panther's a handy cat! :D

And Spider Webb was a callous swine caring more about those rifles than his poor henchman drowning in the quicksand disguised as water!

Yeah, that's the ticket -- the quicksand is DIGUISED as water. Quick thinking, andarius!

This is one of those rare cases when Chapt. 2 is better than Chapt. 1. Let's hope this trend continues.

So, Anthony Warde isn't the only alumnus of BRENDA STARR to appear in TIM TYLER--Pesky (Billy Benedict) is also here, and they're letting him carry a gun!
And I particularly like the way the apes bounce up and down whenever they score a hit. Was this the inspiration for Donkey Kong?

ROFL - yes, they're bouncy apes alright - I think it's their jubilation on getting hits!
And Pesky is, indeed, one of the Ivory Patrol and in full command of his faculties! :D

I haven't had the pleasure of Donkey Kong.

LOL - is it a game? I downloaded a Commodore-64 Robin Hood game in 1999 whch starts with Robin and Much in a dungeon; they're still in the dungeon - I understand it's quite a nice game when Robin and Much escape from the dungeon!

Has anyone noticed Pat O'Brien is in the credits? I assume it must be a different Pat O'Brien.

It's the Pat O'Brien who starred in the 1929 silent serial HOUSE OF TERROR. You can also see him in TAILSPIN TOMMY AND THE GREAT AIR MYSTERY as Milt Howe, the character played by Grant Withers in the first TT serial. This O'Brien didn't have much of a career; I think his last screen role was a henchman in an early '40s Hopalong Cassidy Western.
