Today's the day to watch chapter 6 and there aren't any chapter 5 comments. Wha?

Amusing musings from chapter 5:

The 2 mounted good guys split up, one goes for additional help as the other follows the jungle cruiser into a cliffhanging catfight. During the catfight the mounted dude fires a shot and the other good guy quickly shows up because he heard the gunshot. Uhm, you have one fast steed, suh.

Spider wouldn't let Tim spend the night with his father because Tim might "Work on him." So Tim (and his faithful leopard-panther hybrid) work on Lazar instead, successfully.

The quicksand area seems to be like an oasis in the middle of a barren land.
It's like Rodney King used to say, "Can't we all get a bong."

I noticed that too and thought the second guy must've been following the first, rather than going for help.

I can't imagine how anyone with Lazar's value system ever became an owlhoot? His value system becomes further evident in chapter 6.

So far this is a good print of a good serial and will probably merit a rewatching in the future.

Yes, chapter 6 was The Juju Show.

Early in the chapter, as Ms. Lane, Juju and another fellow come upon the Ivory Patrol, Juju jumps up and slaps the fellow in the face... TWICE! A funny scene, but nowhere as funny as...

...the Spider Webb crony who says, "I'll get Lazarre, if it's the last thing I ever do!" The guy gets ready to throw a hand grenade and gets shot, dropping the grenade, causing the Spider Webb party to scurry so they aren't blown up. Famous last words, those are.

Ms. Lane told him to stop and he's a big boy! IIRC, when JuJu came into that fellow's tent he flinched! :D

Who's a pretty boy, then! :D

Have you noticed that "Ju-Ju" and "Spider" Webb are the only cast member listed with quotes around their names? I realize in "Spider's" case it's to indicate that his parents probably name him something like Albert Webb and "Spider" is just a nickname. But does that mean that "Ju-Ju's" parents named him something else too?
Anyway, "Ju-Ju" is played by Skippy, who hasn't been behaving himself very well in the last few chapters. He reminds me of Bingo, the chimp in the early episodes of the Abbott and Costello TV show, who used to constantly grab for Costello's crotch. ("No, Bingo, no" was a frequent refrain.) Finally he bit Costello and that was the end of Bingo's career in show business.

Nice screen grab Andarius. Looks like Ms. Lane is flinching too from the surprise-swinging simian. I bet she took a few blows to the ol' noggin.

:D Dunno. I remember Maureen O'Sullivan saying she thought Cheetah was homosexual..."He loved Johnny (Weissmuller) but hated me!".

Well, I just watched chapter 4, "The Ivory Trail". A few thoughts...

How come the monkey gets a credit ("Skippy as Ju Ju") but Fang, the talented leopard who's playing a panther, doesn't?

When crazy Lazar says, "I'm going to carry you, kid" it sounds just like he's saying, "I'm going for karaoke."

Lazar also says, "You betcha my life." I think he's been watching too many Cisco Kid movies.

Fang's agent wasn't very good!

The one animal credit I remember was the TV version of Topper - Buck as Neil
The female impersonater playing Lassie never got credit though.
