David and I met yesterday, set schedules for the two festivals we're doing this year, then went to see Hugo.

****CHICO**** early March.
FRIDAY:

6 PM -- $1 comedy show -- Keaton in COPS, Chaplin in BEHIND THE SCREEN, Laurel & Hardy in WRONG AGAIN, plus 1-reel Keystone comedy, LIZZIES OF THE FIELD.

8 PM -- Hitchcock's BLACKMAIL (the rare silent version) plus Jean Vigo short A PROPOS DE NICE.

SATURDAY:

10:30 AM -- V. I. Pudovkin's STORM OVER ASIA

1 PM -- Rin Tin Tin in THE NIGHT CRY plus a Felix the Cat cartoon

3 PM -- THE CANADIAN (directed by William Beaudine in his great days)

7 PM -- Cecil DeMille's CHICAGO

9 PM -- THE UNHOLY THREE (with Lon Chaney, Sr.)

****REDDING**** last weekend in October

FRIDAY:

6 PM -- $1 laugh show to be announced later

8 PM -- GREED (filmed on Northern California locations by Erich Von Stroheim)

SATURDAY:

10 AM -- MOTHER by V. I. Pudovkin

12 NOON -- THE GREAT K & A TRAIN ROBBERY (Tom Mix western)

2 PM -- A Mary Pickford feature, possibly DADDY LONG LEGS or SPARROWS

4 PM -- HANDS UP! (Raymond Griffith comedy western)

7 PM -- ORPHANS OF THE STORM (Lillian and Dorothy Gish play, of all things, sisters in D. W. Griffith classic French Revolution melodrama)

I'll be sketching in some commentary on these films in the coming months, and there may be a few changes to the Redding schedule.

Sparrows is one of the ones we're considering (I love it) but because we have a contact with the Pickford estate we could be showing something that hasn't appeared on home video ... perhaps Daddy Long Legs ... we're trying for something different.
