Thanks again Tony for posting these. DEADWOOD DICK is a surprisingly good serial from James Horne, even though I just can't accept Don Douglas as the hero. The music used for the credits years later turned up in the Annie Oakley show with Gail Davis. Does anyone know what the title is, or where it came from?
Also, Tony this looks like it is from a nice print. Any way you can let us know where you got it from?

Pa,
According to IMDB Lee Zahler is responsible for the music but is uncredited.

Finally saw this serial. It's surprisingly good despite all the things that should make it not work: multiple plot inconsistencies, a less than charismatic leading man, a leading lady who alternates between being brave and screaming in fright, a comic relief who becomes annoying, those Columbia cliffhanger resolutions where the hero is unscathed when a building falls on him or he falls several stories, and a hackneyed basic plot about a masked rider conquering the bad guys. I think it is the fact that this thing really moves along for 15 chapters with just excellent pacing. It's also interesting to see Roy Barcroft in a non-Republic serial. Oh, and Ed Cobb is in it too!

They are all expired or blocked Facebook images. Maybe the Russkies got 'em.

I used to have this serial on VHS from Mr. O and I liked it a lot, as I recall. A long time ago.

We discussed it (sort of) here, too.

Co-star Lorna Grey (Adrian Booth) told me in the scene where she is on a outdoor stage with red/white/blue bunting around it - they was a stampede that tore down the stage and she was almost killed when it got out of hand. Said she was scared to death.
