First a disclaimer: I'm not connected with the Shasta Silent Film Fest this year, although I had some input on the programming in the early stages.

The news is, the closing show will be Dave Shepard's tinted print of Griffith's wonderful movie movie, Orphans of the Storm, with original score, unheard for many decades, performed by my favorite silent film pianist ever, Dr. Frederic Hodges.

I guess you all know that the festival shows only real film, and only with live music. To see a film this great in this way will be unforgettable. I'm saving my pennies for the plane ride to Sacramento, and if anybody out there wants to split a car rental and motel room, PM me.

More festival info will be at the Shasta County Arts Council website.
Life is just a bowl of cherries, it's too mysterious, don't take it serious...
