I've done background materials on some films that have yet to see the light of day from VCI, but are planned as future discs. Here's one. Jungle Girl and the Slaver is a West German adventure/exploitation film that’s been dubbed into English, but you won’t care. In fact, were it dubbed into Pig Latin, you wouldn’t care, because it stars Marion Michael, the most beautiful White Jungle Goddess you’ve ever seen. She is nude except for itty-bitty conch shells that cover the good stuff (where she found them in the middle of the African jungle, they don’t tell us) and a loin cloth that appears to be made out of a rubber band. During the making of this film, the script, and, apparently, the editor as well, were devoured by army ants, so the West German producers, in a race with their East German counterparts to win the Cold War by producing the quickest sequel to the hit Liane, Jungle Goddess, simply mixed the footage together (along with a lot of National Geographic-type stuff) in a basket with a big stick. Random kitchen magnets with assorted words on them make more sense than the “plot” of this film, and nearly all of the voices are dubbed by Paul Frees, whom you’ll recognize from about 20,000 cartoons. Thankfully, he didn’t voice the Jungle Goddess. |

LOL - I saw one of those at the pictures and, possibly, the same one (Liane, something of the Urwalds with Hardy Kruger) aired on German satellite in the 90s. We had loads of German channels on Rupert Murdoch's Sky platform then. It's available on those budget DVDs - what's the label? Alpha, but the price has rocketed!
