This fjone picture was marketed as an action thriller, which is isn't, and failed to find its audience. The plot revolves around a drug called NZT, which allows you to use all your brain power instead of the 7% most of us use. Bradley Cooper is a slacker who manages to get a supply of the stuff and becomes wildly successful despite a few setbacks I won't go into for fear of spoilers. Robert De Niro is the tycoon who takes Cooper up, and their interaction as characters and as actors is unusually interesting. I loved this movie, but I suspect not everybody would. If you don't have a working knowledge of what drugs can do for and to you, you coundn't possibly figure out what's going on, but if you do, you'll find this movie witty and even enlightening. It's easily they best drug movie ever. A perfect 5 on the Panzometer. |
