Best and favorite actress in some serials too, of course: Masked Marvel, Captain Marvel.

The website you referenced is tied up, it appears. In any case, hadn't realized she was still with us, and regret her passing. No excuse for the NYT dropping the ball on this one!

Well, here's all it says:

"Actress Louise Currie (b.1913) died on September 8. Currie made her debut in 1940 and went on to appear in The Green Hornet Strikes Again! , The Adventures of Captain Marvel, and Voodoo Man . She portrayed a reporter in Orson Welles's Citizen Kane and was the last surviving actor from that film. "

Interesting bit about her being the last surviving CITIZEN KANE actor.

Yes, indeed.

I didn’t know she had been in the film, but correctly assumed that she was one of the shadowy reporters at the end. Naturally, my R-rated mind immediately wondered if she and Alan Ladd had something going.

Alas, nothing definite. There was a connection, but only that Mr. Ladd's soon-to-be wife, Sue Carol, was Louise's agent.

Well, thanks anyway, Miss Currie, for some fun screen entertainment.

By the way, there's another serial heroine in KANE: Jan Wiley, who appeared in DICK TRACY VS. CRIME INC., THE MASTER KEY, and the second SECRET AGENT X-9.
