I have a ton of DVDs and some Blu-Ray discs I need to get rid of. There are too many to list but there are serials, westerns, mysteries, musicals and every other thing you can think of (except maybe horror and monster). There are even a few box sets of things like Hitchcock movies. A lot of the stuff is the kinds of old movies and somewhat offbeat stuff that Balconeers often like. If you have been looking for something, send me a PM with your desired items and I let you know if I have them. A few of them are PAL so would require a region-free player.

I thought the American one was pretty good

From what I've read, you're in a minority. I believe people were especially ticked when the American producer tried to stretch a one-year story into two years.

Actually, the American version of the first series is about the same length as the Danish one (around 20 hours) except was spread over two seasons. The idea in the original series was that each episode represented a day in the murder investigation. Where the American version differed was that it veered significantly from the original series plot about halfway through and the plot differences were to its detriment IMO.

That's what I've read, and the wife said it went downhill fast, during the second half of the first season. I'm not even sure she got through the entire second season.

My wife loved the first season. Didn't like the second season at all. Netflix has picked it up for a third.

If you or your wife have never seen the original, you should.

The wife has since watched the original, for me the premise doesn't sound compelling enough and I have so much other stuff to watch.

The premise is nothing original. It's the acting and the mood that is set in the original. It's one of those "It ain't what you do; it's the way how you do it" things.

Cool, Jazzy, if the original series shows up on Netflix, I'll give it a shot.
