Grapevine has this on sale for $12.99 so I ordered it.
I'm not usually a cowboy fan, but it's got Nazis so I'm in.
Funny thing-- postman stumbles up to me as I'm shoveling the fourth foot of snow in a week, hands me what I thought was this serial.

Woo hoo says me as I head inside to watch a chapter. I crack it open and the box is pink? What the? I say.

Sailor Moon vol 2 which the Mrs ordered.

Maybe tomorrow.

A good serial choice, Bat-buddy. KotTR is a fun one.

Curious to know how this one looks and what the source material is.

I'm going to guess it was sourced from the Republic Laserdisc release.

It's been a while since I watched it, but checking my notes, I said: "Decent copy - upgrade if perfect copy becomes available".

LOL - I guess I should have done that, we do have that darn list, after all. I would rate picture/sound a solid 7.5/8, based on my comments.

I just realized Andy ordered the Grapevine version, which I didn't know about. I believe my release is from VCI, but I can't find the title on their website now.

VCI didn't release this; I have AC Comics' version.

That explains it. Thanks, then so do I.

Got the serial-- sound is good, picture is decent. I'm going to bet very close to what the AC version is.
It lacks a little bit of contrast but overall very solid.
Fun serial so far.

That's clearly not sourced from the LaserDisc. It's a bit too soft.

Agreed, Jazzy. The AC Comics version looks much sharper.

I could be misremembering, but my recollection is that Jack mastered his KotTR from an original 16mm print he rented from a friend of mine. The Republic Home Video version was mastered from 35mm elements. That would account for the slightly softer appearance of Grapevine's DVD.
