We were up 8-0, and then held on to win 8-6 :D

So Mark, didn't you say you'd kick our ass? Wait, I think I said the same too. Great day for Canadian baseball :D

Is it just me, or does pitching on both sides seem to be a bit lousy?

Not to take anything away from Canada, good win for them...it just seems like the US shouldn't be giving up 8 runs, and Canada shouldn't be giving up 6 runs in an inning...JMO of course.

Hmm...ESPN just said the pitching for Canada was great. :P

8-0 was just tremendous and I was a little scared when the US got 6 runs in an inning, that wasn't cool. But we pulled it off.

Did anyone see the Chase Utley hit that was about to be a homer and put the US in the lead but was caught by Adam Stern? :P Now that...that was amazing. B)

Right now I don't care if we get knocked out of this tournament or not, this moment is a moment to remember and makes you think how miracles can happen. :D

It was "great" for 8 innings. The problem comes with the one.

What would happen if Canada has another "great" 8 innings, but has another bad inning and ends up losing the WBC because of it?

I'm sorry, I just have a history of not believing ESPN's "experts" and the like.

As far as I am concerned, we played 8 great innings and a crap inning. Does it matter? No.

As for the ESPN saying pitching was great, well I didn't watch the whole game, so I can't say it exactly was but the fact that an A league pitcher did a good job is great in my opinion.

I'm hoping we'll win against Mexico, but you can't take anyone for granted, clearly that was proven today. Team Canada in Torino took the Swiss for granted, they shut us out, and well they beat a powerhouse. It feels good to do that.

Just because we won this game do I think we'll win the WBC? No, on paper no, but heart won this game in my opinion not skill. Unless you count Adam Stern who I think was the player of the game.

3-0 for Canada would be cool, but if we lose, and the US beats South Africa (seems likely), it could get messy and it would come down to stats.

Considering Canada gave up 8 runs against South Africa, I would say the pitching isn't so hot.

Um, that was a different starter, plus I was saying we did good job today on pitching this game. The starter was a class A pitcher, now to do good without letting any runs go by until the sixth inning (if he even pitched that inning) is definitely good.

Why are you getting so defensive?

If you think I'm defensive now...you haven't seen anything yet.

I'm pretty sure I said Canada as a whole. So, this game, previous game, whatever game.

I just don't think of a 7 run average allowed as a great pitching performance. Call me crazy for that.
